Hi Carol, I am sorry to hear that you are suffering so much. I hope that you get some relief soon. It sounds as if you also have temporal arteritis. I am sure, with the right dose of Prednisone, you will be more comfortable. Temporal arteritis does require a higher dose of Prednisone than what I have, Polymyalgia Rheumatica. I am doing pretty well on 7.5 mg of Prednisone, but I, too, have endured numerous ups and downs because of changes in doseage. My doctor has been trying to get my dose down to as low as possible, and that seems to be 7.5 mg, for now. I had a relapse at the 5 mg dose, which I was on a little over a month ago, so the dose had to be increased. I hope you are feeling much better now! Good luck to you!
