Hi Shar- I'm sorry to hear that Vioxx was taken off the market when you were doing so well with it. I also heard that Celebrex did not help some people. I know someone who was taking Vioxx, and the doctor changed him to Mobic, which is an NSAID and it helped him almost as much as Vioxx. What did your doctor say? I am still on the two antibiotics; my sedrate and white count are now both normal. Is it Lymes; PMR or some underlying long-time infection? Anyhow, I do feel somewhat better since being on the Penicillin injections. Its been about six months. As for the Prednisone- I plan to taper to 7 mg very soon. I am doing it very slow. (If I have something important to do, I do not taper until the event is over). After five years I feel I can take some liberties with the medicine, since I know my reactions to the drug. I see my rheumatologist next week, but do not expect him to do much. I know he wanted me to taper faster- so we'll see. It's been a long haul for all of us. Hope you feel better soon. Best wishes, Ida
