Polymyalgia and Prednisone

Hi Ida, I started back on Enbrel on Sunday, and I just had my second shot today. I think it is working already! I have very little pain in my joints now, but I am a bit more tired. The mornings are my worst time for fatigue. How about you? I've been told that Prednisone does that to us after being on it a long time. I am optimistic that I will be able to taper the Prednisone this time, once I am stabilized on the Enbrel. It sounds like you still have some PMR, Ida. I am sorry to say that for some people, it doesn't go away. At least, that is what my rheumatologist told me. I may still have PMR along with RA, so you aren't alone. If I still have PMR, it's been a little over 3 years now. I am happy to hear that you are making progress in tapering your Prednisone! That is good news! How long do you put up with the increased pain, before you feel that the taper has been successful? I am afraid that I may have rushed my tapers last year. Oh well. This time, I am going to taper slowly. It's good to hear from you, Ida. Please let me know how you are doing on your current taper. Take good care. Shar
