I haven't posted in a long time but have been reading all the posts. Sorry to hear Shar and Ida have been having such a hard time. I've had it for 2 years now and have been on 5 mg of pred for a couple of months. It doesn't keep all the pain away but I can get around. I tried to drop to 2 1/2 last week and lasted for a week but was in so much pain I had to go back to 5. I also started on Fosamax 3 weeks ago and started getting a couple of itching spots(what I thought were insect bites) each week but it turns out it is hives and this week I am covered and they itch terribly. I think it is the Fosamax but it lasts a week in the system and the itching is awful. My Dr had me up my Pred to 10 and take an antihistimine but that really doesn't help the itch much. Helps the pain from PM though. I also have gained 20 pounds and am still trying to squeeze into my pants. Some I can't though. I look like I am 6 months pregnant. Lets hope we can all get well soon. good luck with your new medicine.
