Hi Ida, It seems that you have been through a lot lately, Ida. I am so sorry about that, but I'm glad to hear that the doctors have finally found out what caused your high white cell count and are treating it. Did you have symptoms from the kidney infection? That is scary. What was your white cell count? Mine is just a tad high, but my rheumy said it's from inflammation. I hope that's all it is. I have no symptoms that I know of. Is your diagnosis still PMR? My rheumy believes I have PMR along with RA. It's a shame that Prednisone has so many side effects, and yet, it is sometimes so necessary for many of us to take in order to have a life.
