Polymyalgia and Prednisone

Hi Ida, How are you? Did you manage to taper your Prednisone a little bit more? Your doctors still don't know for sure if you have Lyme Disease? Do you still have PMR? How is your pain and fatigue? You are right about trying to enjoy your days the best that you can. Fall is a very pretty time of the year. The trees are gorgeous right now! I had been put on Celebrex after Vioxx was removed from the market, and it has given me some problems. I noticed that I was getting palpitations on it. I've gone off of it twice and then back on it, and I feel pretty sure it is responsible for the palpitations. My rheumatologist is not in this week, so I'll call him next week, and see what he thinks. I was in to see my regular doctor, and she increased my blood pressure medicine a little bit. It's still a low dose, but it is working well for me. She said I am very thin for the amount of Prednisone I have been on, which is 16mg at this time. She attributes it to my regular exercise. I'm still 40 pounds heavier than I was 4 years ago. Oh well. There are worse things in life than gaining weight. I'm glad I can still have a life and do things. I just need more rest than I did before. It's a serious disease, as my doctor said, but it's a lot better than having cancer or a stroke. Rheumatoid Arthritis is something I can live with. Thanks to my good doctors and modern medicine. Let me know how you are doing, Ida. I hope you are doing well. Take care. Shar
