Polymyalgia and Prednisone

Hi Ida, I'm sorry you had a kidney infection, but I am glad that you are recovered. Did you have to increase your Prednisone to clear that up? Boy, it's always something! My eyes are okay. Thanks for asking. My rheumatologist appointment went well this past Wednesday. I am feeling optimistic about tapering some more on the Prednisone. I am still at 13mg, though, but I hope to try for 12mg starting next week. How does it feel for you when you taper with alternate days at at the higher dose, Ida? Do you feel worse on the days that you go down 1mg? I might try that method. So your doctors think you still have PMR? I guess it is difficult to be sure. At least, PMR can be fairly well controlled with Prednisone. That is something positive, anyway. I am on several other big gun drugs to help me taper the Prednisone. So far, it has been very difficult, but I would be worse if I weren't on these other drugs. It has been discouraging to have to deal with so many side effects from being on Prednisone for over 4 years, but I haven't given up hope on getting it tapered some more. My doctor said that every little bit helps. Have a wonderful Easter! Shar
