Polymyalgia and Prednisone

Hi Shar- How are you feeling? I hope you have been able to taper the Prednisone further without severe side effects. After three months on 8mg daily, Sept. 1, I started on 8/7mg alternate days. So far, so good, after two weeks. I still have some pain, but not the terrible fatigue and stiffness as before. (I had been on Lipitor for cholesterol. Lipitor is supposed to cause muscle pains and my internist changed that medication.) Maybe that had something to do with this mild taper. I see my Rheum. next month. Wonder if he will keep this s-l-o-w taper? After four years on Prednisone, I have increased eye pressure which could cause Glaucoma; osteopenia, slight bone loss, and mild stomach problems. Never had any of this before Prednisone. I haven't calculated it, but I figure at this rate of taper, it will be about another two years on Prednisone. I really can't complain, people have much worse. I hope you are feeling much better on your new medication. Please let me know how you are doing. Best wishes, Ida
