Hi Claudia, You said you cannot reduce the Prednisone to 7.5 mg and still be comfortable. I am sorry to hear that, but it's good that your doctor has another medicine in mind. I have heard of Plaquenil, but my doctor hasn't mentioned as an option for me. If you can take it along with a lower dose of Prednisone, or be able to eliminate the Prednisone, it sounds like a good plan. My rheumy has stated that 7.5 mg of Prednisone and below, is much safer for long term, than 10 mg or above, so what we want to do is get the Prednisone dose as low as possible, and still be able to function.
