Hi Ida, I saw my doctor last week, and told him about my hip pain on the left side, which had just come about in the last 5 or 6 weeks. He examined me and ordered x-rays of the hip, even though he felt pretty sure that it is bursitis. He also had me get a bunch of blood tests. He gave the hip an injection and that worked, which is a good diagnostic tool in discovering whether it is bursitis or not. He said that if the shot worked, then it is bursitis. Also, the pain was exactly where the bursa for the hip is located, which was one more clue that it looked like bursitis. My bone scan came back very very good! How about that! I've been on Prednisone for three and a half years. I am now tapered a little bit more on the Prednisone and am at 14mg. So far, so good. The Vioxx is helping along with Enbrel and MTX. My blood pressure is a little high, so that is a new concern. I will be watching it and reporting to my doctor if it gets any higher, as he wanted me to.
