Hi, I had my 3rd pvns surgery on Jul 12th. I am healing but is very slowly and my knee still hurts the way it did before the 7/12 surgery. The surgery on 7/12 was my 3rd operation for pvns. I am going for PT now; 3x a week. It is strengthening my muscles but I still haven't regained full flexion and extension yet. I am supposed to go for another 6 session before they evaluate me again. My surgeon is at New York Presbyterian hospital. I had a consutation with Memorial Sloan Kettering physician. He told me the only thing that can be done is surgery for pvns. The doctors hope that if they do radical enough surgery the pvns will not grow back. But nobody knows. This is a very rare tumor and no really knows what how to cure it. In other words, there is NO cure. The doctor at MSK said no radiation unless you have to have your limb removed because the radiation can cause cancer and they do not want to do that.
