Fibromyalgia

My strongest and best advice is to find a new doctor! In my opinion the job of a doctor is to 1)help the patient's quality of life and 2)help with the patients quanity of life. It was my doctor who told me these two facts. She gave me oxycontin for my pain of fibromyalgia. I was only taking 20mgs twice a day. I stopped it cold turkey on my own (which some people say is not possible) due to the fact I did not like the way it made me feel. I wanted to do nothing but sleep night and day. That is no life as far as I am concerned. I also stopped it as I wanted to know if I was any better or not. Being on a strong pain med may keep you from knowing if you still need it or not. They say oxycontin is very addicting, so be very careful. I now take vicodine for my pain, also neurontin for the burning in my hands and feet and mirapex for my muscle spams. Do your best not to get on a high dosage of oxycontin. If a lower dose does not work for you then I suggest you take a less addictive or non-addictive pain killer and take more of it if needed. If you would like to talk about this further, feel free to email me.
