The most important thing that has helped relieve my pain is getting off of Aspartame (Equal, Nutrasweet) and any products that contain it. I also stay away from all preservatives, additives, MSG, glutamates and nitrates. No more bacon, soups made with bouillon or chicken paste. Stay away from yeast extracts, yeast food and any ingredients that you read and cannot understand what they mean. All those toxins excites the pain neurons in the body. Eliminate them from your diet and you will go through a withdrawal and end up feeling a heck of a lot better and at least 75 to 90% less pain. Also stay away from corn and corn syrups. Get back to natural basic foods. You can use raw sugar, maple syrup, honet. Stay away from refined flours and refined sugars. They are no good for you. We react to those substances and our muscles get in chronic burning pain. A good antihistamine will also relieve the all over muscle pain. I use Tavhist or Tavist. It's a little expensive but it is over the counter and it works. Not many people know that remedy. All those pain pills are OK for an emergency but not good for you. A good Rheumatologist who specializes in FibroM should help. The standard meds are an antidepressant (such as Celexa) and another antidepressant (such as Trazadone) to help with the sleeping disorder. FibroM people have sleeping disorders and wake up all night long and never feel rested or refreshed. I also use a good chiropractor who helps the pain in my neck, shoulders and back and gives me a lot of relief. Good luck.
