If I were you I would find another doctor. I would hope you are going to a rhematolgist who deals with pts who have fibromyalgia but it doesn't sound like it. I have had fms for 30 yrs. & have been taking oxycotin for over 2 yrs with no side effects. If anything, I can now function & am living a better life without so much pain. The contraversy regarding oxy is teens CRUSHING UP OXY AND SNORTING IT and exceding the dosage which has caused addition & death. Alert your dr to the harm he is doing to his pts by denying a pain drug that can help them to a better quality of life & to educate himself as to what the true facts are before he makes a statement to which he does not have the correct knowledge regarding oxy. Also, as I have suggested, I would find another dr, you shouldn't have to be denied medical care that could help you.
