It is not unusual to continue finding nits after treating for head lice. The shampoos kill the live lice but do not remove the nits. It requires pretty much going through the hair strand by strand to find and remove all the nits. The lice combs will remove some but not all the nits. The rest require careful searching and removal by hand. The nits are best seen in direct sunlight, so sitting out in the yard or by a window with good sun exposure helps.
