My kids used to get head lice in school. It was horrid! First make sure all the jackets, etc in school are separated by at least 4 inches. You need to wash ALL the bedding, spray them down, and throw everything in a hot dryer. As for the nits on the scalp, I found that most were resistent to over the counter treatments. Your pediatrician can prescibe you a shampoo that will work. Use cod liver oil as a rinse. It makes the nits slide off easier, and suffocates them at the same time. GOOD LUCK!
