I am 73 year old,50 mile/week runner and have found the best treatment for all the pounding is to roll up and down my back with a lowly inflated volley ball. It is a great way to relax muscles. Roll up the entire back. Start by sittinng on the ball and move slowly up the back all the way to the neck. Good luck.
