If i were you I would have the doctor make sure there is not stones in the duct because I had the same problem I was born without a gallbladder and for over a year I dealt with pain and they could not figure out the problem. After several tests and a lot of pain they finally realized I had stones in the common duct and removed them. I hope this helps a little. If this doctor says the problem will go away, I suggest you find a new doctor. Good luck.
