Hi Karen! I was diagnosed with eds IV last year. Complications began for me in 1993. Now I am very limited to the type of work that I do because of chronic pain and tissue tears. I applied for ss last year and have just completed my 2nd appeal. Yesterday I was seen by a geneticist who is fully aware of eds and what it does. He recommended that I use a social worker to help push my ss claim thru because many people do not understand eds at ss and to my knowledge there is no protocal written for it in the ss yet. don't stop your claim and keep pursuing. It will come.
