Eczema

I know what you're going thru with the eczema. My daughter is 7 years old and has had it all of her life. We've tried every treatment possible, it seems. She is an avid dairy consumer. We have decreased her dairy recently, thanks to a new doc telling us that it could be a reaction, but we really can't tell a difference. A few things we do to keep it under control (with a few flare-ups occasionally) is that she bathes only once a week with no bubble bath and using Dove unscented soap. After the bath, we immediately put the Diprolene ointment (the only medication which has TRULY worked) on any flare-ups. After the ointment, we generously apply Eucerin lotion. I have found a shampoo which is soothing to her hair. It's the Austrian Tea Shampoo by Paul Mitchell. It has a mint smell and gives a "cold" sensation to the scalp. No conditioner has helped her terribly dry and scabbed scalp except for some leave-in conditioner also by Paul Mitchell. I'm sorry that I can't remember the name. Only the size of a pea is needed for my daughter and it's blue in color. This has seemed to make her scratch less on her scalp, and also has seemed to make her feel as if her hair isn't so dry, too. I'm sorry for what you are having to go thru. My husband and daughter and I have had a long hard battle with the eczema, and have finally learned how to keep it under control. If you would like, please e-mail and I can let you know anything we've been thru from infancy. Good luck and God Bless!!!
