Hi Susan, I have had bursitis in my hip which came on suddenly in June, almost 11 months ago. I have been through every possible conservative treatment and can't find a surgeon in my area to operate. I sleep with an ice pack on a brand new soft mattress with pillows propped up everywhere. My shoulder hurts from lying on the same side, and some times the good hip aches, but isn't bursitis!
