chronic bursitis in hip/buttock

I sympathize with you! I have had chronic pain in the butt for nearly 4 years. After 4 orthopods, a neurologist, a pain specialist, a chiropractor, osteopath, accupuncture, several rounds of physical therapy and mega-$$$$$$$ I was finally diagnosed with psoas bursitis. It showed up on the MRI which previously had only been taken of the spine. They kept saying it was referred pain from the spine. Nobody was listening to my symptoms!!! So now it is chronic and I simply have to manage it. The best anti-inflammatory which does not hurt my stomach is Bextra. I buy it from canadameds.com (with a Dr.'s prescription) Other than that, Omega fatty acids and rest are all I know to do. But I often feel like an old lady and I'm only 59. I am quite convinced that driving a stick shift car either caused or contributed to the onset of this condition. Let me know if you find anything else that helps. I still can't drive more than 20 minutes without pain down my leg, even though I had to get rid of the stick shift and buy an automatic.
