Lyme disease and babesia are two separate illnesses. Both are caused by a tick bite I believe. I have been treated for lymes but had it for about 5 years before it was diagnosed so I have permanent damage from it. IV antibiotics did help the neurological damage that I was experiencing, however. If you are diagnosed with lyme and treated within the first 6 months, usually you will be ok. It is when you are not treated that the decease progresses. Babesia is another decease. You can find a lot of info on both illnesses over the internet. It is very hard to find a doctor that specializes in these illnesses. Good luck and God bless.
