My son has had lyme disease before and since then had other viruses that were similar. We saw an excellent infectious disease specialist who told us that lyme disease tests are so inaccurate that anytime he suspects lyme he immediately begins a course of treatment with antibiotics. The benefit of early intervention outways any contraindications.
