I just had embilical hernia surgery and even though I understand that this condition with women is a little different than with men, I see no reason why it would not be a simple one day procedure for your mother. this is considered very minor surgery today. I would recommend that you push a little with your doctors to get some help for your mom. If these conditions are aggivated they can become quite serious. It has been two weeks now and I have been walking since day 2 of getting out of the hospital and feel like I am about 80% at this point. Age makes a differenc in any surgery situation. I am 52 and in excellent overall health. I am certain that there is a solution for your mother. Push for it! Mike
