Emphysema

Hi ,In response to your question from a lamans point of view,I have to say that quitting smoking is so very difficult to do,I am a heart patient and cannot take the meds to assist in quitting and cold turkey doesn't cut it either,so I feel stuck...Your friend who was diagnosed with this dreadfull disease will strongly improve her life span if she quits if not she will go rather quickly. My mother is laying in a hospital bed dying from emphysema as we speak. Her lungs look like a huge railroad maze full of scar tissue. She too tries to quit but only after she almost does herself in.Once again I pray for her recovery. Her quality of life is that compared of a debilating old women from a vibrant senior aged strong healthy women, because of "smoking".So you have so much to gain by quitting this filthy suciadal habit and so much to live for just as I do, but when it sneaks up on you trust me when I say ,its gonna get you one way or another. So do yourself and your body the best that you can do for yourself and your life and "QUIT" those rotten cigaretts.Congradulations quite a victory these days to hear about someone getting up the nerve to put a stop to this deadly disease before its gets started and its too late. There is no return and no cure so lay them down and say a prayer for me too while your at it.Thank you for hearing me ramble on.Hoping to be an x smoker before its too late...Regards Linda
