I don't know if I have cervical cancer or not but I just had a colposcopy (cervical biopsy) to determine why I had an abnormal pap smear. They said I have HPV which is a virus that causes genital warts (of which I have none) and/or abnormal cell growth of the cervix that can lead to cancer. I'm really scared because I'm only 27 and I am waiting for the results of the biopsy. I don't want to have surgery and I definitely am afraid of cancer. Did you have any symptoms before you found out? They gave me a pamphlet on LEEP surgery where they remove the tip of the cervix with an electrosurgical tool and it's only supposed to be as uncomfortable as the biopsy (which was really no worse than a pap smear.) I don't know if I should look towards a more natural healing method before such invasive surgery. Do you have any advice? -Theresa
