chronic or persistant pericarditis without effusion

Hi pericarditis suffers, I have had this reoccurring since last June. I'm 48 years old. It happens every 3 to 4 weeks. It really sucks. It puts me outof commission for at least two days every time I get it. It was that it put me out for a week until the Doc started me on Prednisone, 4 tablets @ 5mg 4X /day for 3 days then 3/ day for 3 days, then 2 /day for 3 days then 1/day for 3 days then off. (works pretty well) Been seeing a rhuematologist and it has been a wait and see thing. I'm only the 3rd person this specialist has seen with this condition that reoccurs for the 8 plus months I have had this. I'm on 3 25 mg. of Indocin / day. I also take 1 Protonix in the evening which helps with the stomach pain caused by the Indocin and Prednisone. Also has anyone else been tested positive for ANA? (antinuclear antibodies) I show 3 symtoms of different rhuematoidal diseases but no other symtoms, not yet anyway. If anyone figures this thing out please let me know. Thanks Bob
