Do you go to work when Restless Legs attack

How great to read your query! Validation is a REAL IMPORTANT issue with this disorder. I too thought I was crazy for a long time and a diagnosis of Restless Leg Syndrome?! Come on, there's really something with that name? Did the medical profession run out of adjectives or something!?! However, I've subsequently found that it is the "most realest" disorder I've ever had! Yes, I usually do go to work in spite of many sleepless nights. I do adjust my schedule from time-to-time, trying to start later 'cause if I do get quality sleep I usually get it sometime after 4AM.. I also try to catch a cat-nap whenever possible 'cause they do help me. My office has a "sick room" where one can lie down, but just going to my car for peace and quiet sometimes helps. I don't know if you drive to DC or take the Metro, but don't be hesitant to catch those ZZZZs when you can. I live in Fairfax and work in Herndon so we're neighbors!! There was a support group that met at Alexandria hospital several years ago - don't know if it still does or not. Doctors - well I can't advise you about that. My PCP is very sympathetic and it seems as if we're learning about this RLS thing together. We share info obtained from the Web and wherever else we can get it and she's always open to suggestion and trial of new meds. I was first diagnosed with this about 20 years ago and have found that there are periods where I am more comfortable than others, but most importantly, I try to go about business as usual whenever I can. My friends, my co-workers and my boyfriend are all aware of RLS and USUALLY sympathetic about it. I find the symptoms are less evident the busier I am - the more interested I am in what I'm doing! Good luck and I sympathize!!!!
