My husband had whipple surgery in May of 1997. Since we have only been married a little over 2 years I didn`t know him before his surgery, but from talking to him and his children he lost a lot of weight, and became quiet withdrawn, of course during the same time he lost his wife of 22 years to cancer 2weeks after his surgery. But I am happy to say he is doing really well now . He has gained 40 lbs in the 2 years we have been married. His sugar runs a little high sometimes but that is usually when he isn`t feeling well or has an infection someplace in his body.He is on 2 injections of insulin a day.If there is any questions you would like to know about his whipple please feel free to email me @ Carol404@cs.com I will be glad to either answer them or get my husband Sam to answer them for you.
