Just happened across this sight and am quite interested in your posting. My mom underwent the whipple surgery in Dec. 99. She also is having a very difficult time with her weight. It is a constant battle even to maintain her weight despite how many calories she consumes. Her insulin levels are good although she too has to take daily enzymes. She has been finding it difficult to get any information on this type of surgery because it's not all that common, so if you have any info or know of some websites, please let me know. The surgery itself is bad enough, but to have to deal with all of the afteraffects is another whole chapter.
