I also had arthritis as a child (although not as an infant). Mine worsened through my teenage years. I was put on 'Plaquinel') sorry not sure of exact spelling). It is an anti-malarial, which Drs discovered, helped arthritis patients while they were being treated for malaria. I was on Plaquinel for over 3 years. I am now 26 and have only a few symptoms, which are usually caused by extreme weather and over straining. Ask you Dr if this medication would be suitable for an infant. You do need to be careful though as the drug can be harsh on the stomach (but so is naproxyn, brufen etc.) I wish you all the best for you and your child and hope that there will be some relief soon>
