Hello, My son is taking nystatin. He takes 1/4 tsp, 4 times a day. He also takes mild silver protein which is not to be confused with colloidal silver, flax seed oil capsules, acidophilus and a good multivitamin. I would encourage anyone to read about these and see how harmless they are to your body. You don't need a prescription for it. The mild silver protein goes right to the joints. The first couple of days my son was sick from the die off of the yeast. As the yeast dies it releases it's toxins which can make you feel like you have the flu but some people don't have that experience. We are also on a diet for 4 months eating mostly vegtables and meat - no pasta, sugar, flour except oat flour that we make from oat meal. You have to starve the yeast while taking the medication or it won't work. If anyone is interested in what we are doing please email me. I have a friend who is beginning something similar for fybromyalgia (I'm not certain about how that's spelled). I am sad when anyone suffers, but it is especially difficult to me when it is a child.
