Dear Friend: I Understand the problems we face with MS issues and like the rest of our community I have been there done that etc. etc. I have MS for perhaps 27 years or more and it only took 15 of them to get a definitive diagnosis. I am lucky however, in that I have a form in which I can still lead a very productive and lively life. I walk unaided but do work at that as well doing at least 2 miles a day on the treadmill to keep the limbs moving and my brain functioning. I have found that any type of PT is more then important for an active lifestyle. One must keep their mind active, but not filled with stress related issues. IT is utterly significant for folks in wheelchairs as well to gain a bit of physical activity as well. Try to find a quiet time for yourself, you have earned it but utilize it for you only. All right, now on to the question at hand. It is time that your eldest children can pitch in and help with a few of the daily chores that you must have. The little ones are actually easiest, as they love to play games and help at the same time. Make a game out of setting the table, folding napkins etc. They might even like to help carry things that you might not be able to do all at once. The 14-year-old might be a question but try to connive him into clearing the table after dinner, even if it might be called a bribe it is worth it. Ask everyone, including hubby to pitch in with laundry detail, dishes and cleaning of the home. I know years ago my husband was amazing in that he helped with his own laundry and in the clearing of the dishes and the cleaning up of the kitchen. I cook and do that well so my husband doesn’t mind cleaning the table and kitchen after our dinner. This has become a ritual since my children are on their own and it is only the two of us. I thought all of this helping would come out of then air without me asking for a bit of help, however I recognized that if I desired a couple of my errands fulfilled, I would have to simply ask. Learn to pace yourself and your activities for one day. In time this will come as second nature and you will master what you can do and how much at one time. Nygabnet
