My mom is 83. She also has PMR. Was diagnosed about two and a half years ago. Tried Prednisone, helped at first, but then it didn't really do anything except give terrible side effects. She also has hand tremors,fatigue, heartburn and all kinds of aches and pains. She says the soreness is worse than all of it. We think the hand tremors are from the PMR and not the Prednisone as she hasn't taken that in a couple of years. She takes Atasol 30 when she can't stand the pain anymore. She has improved quite a bit whereas she is able to get around now without the walker. Still uses her cane. So there is hope for anyone suffering from this. It does improve with time and yes it definitely does have a mind of its own. Good luck to all suffering from this disease.
