I was dignosed after I nearly went crazy with edema, severe burning pain in my foot in May of 2001 after a fracture to my knee Dec 25, 2000 I had bone scans which showed severe bone thinning. This disease has spread to my left foot and legs, pelvic and face. It is crippling me so fast as it attacks the circulation, legiments and muscles I do extensive therapy everyday to try and keep it from going any further. also on bone therapy treatments. it is not known is this will really help. There is no known cause of sure. go to search and look up the disease I have found family and friends do not understand the pain I go through. Without the help of MS Conti for pain I I wish I could walk and hope someday I will, it is a terrible struggle How quickly how ones life can change in a flash. Good luck to you. You didn't say which stage you were in. There are four. The sooner you have treatment the better chance you will have a little comfort but I am told this is something I will have all my life
