My mother was diagnosed with MVP at 20 years old, and suffered a heart attack at 22, which is still not clear if it was related to MVP or not. She did not die from either, I'm happy to say, and has had numerous offspring since then. She is on medication, and as long as she takes it, she experiences no problems.
