I was diagnosed with MVP almost 20 years ago. I take inderal (beta blocker) 60 mg every day. That amount seems to keep my heart rate at a normal pace and eliminates the "shakes". One doctor told me I need 200 mg daily--I in turn, slowly reduced my daily dosage until I reached a level for me. My doctor approved. I of course take antibiotics before any invasive procedure (where bleeding will occur). At the first signs of a sore throat or other infection -- I medicate asap. For me MVP is a livable, treatable condition. For others it is much worse--some not as bad. My key to a normal day is inderal -- that has been a life saver for me. Good luck....and stay abreast of your condition. If you are suffering other side effects, seek another opinion immediately. MVP is not something to play around with -- it can in some incidences be fatal.
