I have been diagnosed with IC for 12 years now but probably had it for many years before that. I am on Elavil and have hydrodistensions every 3/4 months. Lately, since November, nothing seems to help and I'm in my 4th flare since then. I had a hydrodistension on the 1st of Feb. but the effects only lasted about a week. My doctor wants to schedule another one as soon as he can obtain some DMSO (I've had it before with no success but he wants to try again). He has mentioned possible surgery to either augment the bladder or remove it but only as a last resort. I know how you all feel. I have been going to the bathroom every 15-20 minutes during the day and at least every hour at night. I'm exhausted!!! Hang in there, everyone, help has to be out there somewhere.
