I also have IC and it didn't show up for a long time even though I had all the symptoms. It is not that common and is hard to detect. Finally I was put into the hospital because I was having infections, bladder problems, pain, urgency to go to bathroom,sed rate of 70+ etc. Finally they got an infectious disease doctor to come in. My doctor did a biopsy and found it in the bladder walls. I only use Detrol for it, but it has a lot of side effects. It is a very painful disease. I also have RA and Fibromyalgia and there is a link between the IC and these arthritic conditions.
