I was recently diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis a few months ago after undergoing hydrodistention and cystoscopy - although I have been dealing with the symptoms since I was a very young child. My urologist has suggested using a medication given through a catheter, but I would like to try an oral medication first - since catheters are so painful. I am just getting to the point where I can't stand waking up in the middle of the night with bladder pain and having to go to the bathroom so much. If anyone has any suggestions for what medications to try that have worked for them I would really appreciate it! I would also be interested in any other info that anyone has on IC.
