If you are 18 now and your curve is 40 degrees or above I would recomend the surgery I am 40 and would have perferred to have done it when I was much younger yu bounce back faster at that age and you can gain more correction ciraoprator treatments unfortunately will not do any good I went hat route too and one of my friends is with her son and it is not helping. Sorry on that point you would be throwing away yur money. If a ciraoprator tells you that he can help hes just being big-headed. The only thing that does is to help some with pain and discomfort whitch you probeley do not have a great deal of yet. Also sometimes the curve will stop progreesion on its own but normally tat is only if the curve is 30 degrees or below as tou enter adulthood and that does not happen always your chances of that are 50/50
