Hi Kathy. I am a 41 year old female who just got the same bad news. I have a bulging ruptured disk, C6/7, which the nuerologist claims requires surgery. I have done some research and surgery should be a last resort. If you do have to have surgery, look into microsurgery or laser surgery, which is less invasive than the conventional/traditional 3-5" incision-type surgery. I personally am going to try p.t., diet, exercise, positive thinking, anything else but surgery first. I have read that nuerological problems, i.e. loss of reflexes in arm(s), is an exception to alternate treatment methods. Hope this message finds you well. Look forward to your response.
