I am a 50 year old (?)young woman. I've had genital herpes for 30 years. I always have had to take medication for the herpes: first when ever I had an outbreak, then I was having them so often I was put on a lower dose taken daily. I'd miss 1 dose, & it would start up. I'm telling you this to show you that I've had herpes that have gradually gotten much worse. I know this is not the case with most people. I have found L-Lysine to be helpful but for me it still wasn't enough. The good news is that checking Dr Weil's site www.drweil.com (the guru looking guy that is often on Oprah's show), that I found my life saver! It's monolaurin, sold at healthfood stores and also thru the physician/researcher Dr Kabara who developed it -(as Lauricidin). I only buy it thru the Dr Kabara's site as the price is really good, & I know the quality I'm taking. I hope this doesn't sound like a ad - I just want to share it with all that have this awful problem. I've been taking this for a year. I'm off all medication, & have gotten to where I only take the monolaurin twice a week! I stopped for 2 weeks, and had a break out. I wanted to see if it had gone away :-( The doctor says that it doesn't but I just had to check. But still - this is great :-) I'm going to be posting this on a couple other sites on this forum. It's hard to tell which postings people look at, & I really do want to share it. Good luck.
