I was diagnosed with PMR almost 5 years ago at the age of 48! It came on very suddenly, just a few days after I had been involved in a car accident. I thought I was being troubled with whiplash and pain from being jerked around but after a year of therapy, Chiropractors, etc., my Dr. sent me to a Rhumatologist who diagnosed the PMR. I have stopped taking Prednisone and am trying to manage on Celebrex but honestly, I am so uncomfortable and hurt so much in the mornings and when I turn in bed I am about ready to throw in the towel and start taking it again. This condition is so nasty, not many people realise we can go from being active and doing everything to moving like an old lady, unable to climb out of the bathtub sometimes. Good luck to all of your sufferers out there, if anyone has a magic cure or herbal cure or any kind of cure I'd like to hear from you.
