BLOOD CLOTS

Lizi

Message 3 of 6 Previous Next

well, my boyfriend of 11 yrs. has had a few of those DVT. his sister too..., now my kids are both what they call "Protein C" deficient, or Thrombophilia,(oposite of Hemophiliacs) anywhoo... i've had my experiences with Drs., investigate get a second opinion go to a Hematologist, Oncologist, they should be able to help you better. One of the times he had to get a Catherer in and they had to disolve or break the clots in little pieces so in case it traveled it wouldn't cause other stuff like Embolism, stroke, anurism. other time he had to take some Levanox shots to help the blood thin out to a level, then coumadin can take over. immobility causes these things, lack of circulation, keep drinking water to keep the blood flowing, dehydration is not good, he was a healthy 26 year old at the time, so the first family Dr. told him that it was a pulled muscle, the pain got worse because when the clot moves is very painfun....please get a diff. doc. to see what he says...cumadin will help you dissolve this...but sometimes it needs a little help for your PT and INR to a nice level. till this day he has been on Coumadin, and he had more clots, (only because we did some research and he lacks protein c, which kinda regulates your blood clotting ability. they clot too much.it is heredetary in this case) i really urge you to see a specialist..go online and get the backgrounds, studies, research of the Doctors you consider. there's a world of info online. equip yourself and someone in your family with all the info you can get, so when the doc. talks to you, you understand. ask as many questions as you can. wish you the best...Take your records with you.Make copy and keep one for yourself.... I know a little crazy but i have my 3 & 6 year old, their 34 dad i am 30 and this is all i've done to get to the bottom of things!!!! PS do some research on your family, you know strokes, anurisms, embolism, if they have medical records on hand get them to your doctor....this will help a great deal. it can hep them rule things in or out, but they have a base where they can start researching from. good luck, God Bless!!!
