Before my brain tumor was ever found I had a 2 week headache. It was relieved instantly by a shot of dilaudid (sp?). Too much can make him nauseous though. My daughter was given the same med in pill form when she was 11 & had a tumor on her ovary, and the ovary had to be removed. So it seems to do well with pain relief. I found that morphine only lasted about 20 minutes. Drugs with codeine do fairly well too, but the dilaudid shot knocked it right out. Good Luck, the poor guy shouldn't have to suffer.
