I have had chronic hives and swelling for about 2 years how. I´ve done a great deal of research and seen a lot of doctors. I do not appear to have an allergy, but taking Zyrtec or Claratin helps. No medicine will cure you. I was on prednisone (steroid) for 9 months, and I would advise ayone not to take it more than a month or two at the very most. It causes all kinds of damage to organs and thins the bones. I cracked a rib from lying on my stomach. I also developed a yeast infection (candida) which steroids will cause. Some known causes of hives are candida, fungus, and parasites. You should treat yourself for all of these and don´t expect much help at all from traditional doctors since they ignored these factors in my case, though I later found out I have fungus (may show up as athlete's foot or rashes), parasites, and I don´t know if I already had candida or if it developed from the steroids, but I sure have it now.
