Though my surgery was years ago, I was 21 at the time. I could not talk for two weeks. I had a lot of pain for a long time, yet I had followed all my doc's instructions. It seemed that the two week mark was the dividing line - I felt better. Two weeks of Tylenol products shouldn't be a problem unless you have an underlying condition. Don't worry about that. My son was 14 with his tonsilectomy, and two weeks also was his dividing line - suddenly no need for medication. You will eat again. Be patient. Regarding your tongue,I would contact the doctor, just to let them know if nothing else. They might be able to tell you more. Best wishes.
