hi i had my hip repclaced in feb 2002 an i still get the swelling. i do not get a rash at all. i do get the hot feeling and my orthopedist ran test to make sure i had no infection. they took my blood work becuase sometimes it may be infection. in my case it wasnt. call her surgeon and ask them that question
